Roachie!

Nice to see you blogging again... Those Russians sounds like men after my own heart! Sausage ahoy!

As for your wedding playlist... Might I also suggest some Billie Holiday, Edith Piaf, Louis Armstrong... and that you consider relaxing the "30s" restriction somewhat. I think you may find that stuff recorded in the 30s suffers a lot from bad sound quality - It was the Germans who really figured the technology, and they weren't sharing until we pried it from their stingy Nazi fingers post-WW2.

Lotsa love!

Band?

Huh...

Ok..so my thinking is you want to be thinking early big-band, dixie and jazz. Light stuff.

Tommy Dorsey, Duke Ellington, Guy Lombardo, Fred Astaire (heck, Frank Sinatra if you don't mind slipping into the 40's)...et al are excellent for big band and crooners.

Django Reinhardt kicks for gorgeous mellow jazz, and you can even get some blues in. What about swing?

I guess I'm not really clear on what constitutes 'wedding reception music'. I'm guessing no Slayer right?
