I haven’t written in a long while. Lately, most free moments have gone into preparing for Burning Man - it started out slow, but then it started to sink in just how much prep a couple of first-timers would need to do. At this point, the biggest efforts are largely behind us, and now it’s just down to the last-minute crunch. I’m in Los Angeles on business right now, flying home tomorrow night, and then I’ve got a full work day on Friday. That means I’ve got a couple of nights and all day Saturday to get everything ready to go, since we leave for the playa early Sunday morning. By “we” I mean myself and all the other men of “Camp Wallace” - the ladies (including Emylene) are coming up on Thursday.
The craziest part of all may be that I found out at the last minute (as in: just a couple of days ago) that I might have to leave during the MIDDLE of Burning Man to fly out to Toronto for an urgent personal/business matter. I’d then rush BACK to the playa, so as to end up missing as little of Burning Man as possible. But no matter how you slice it, it certainly would suck. There’s still a chance that I won’t have to make the Toronto trip until after Burning Man is over, but it’s only a small chance.
I probably won’t write again before Burning Man - but I hope to have plenty to write about after it’s over. ![]()
